Travel Tip: How to pack a years worth of clothes in one bag using the VacBag

No matter what your baggage allowance is, it’s just never enough. Now imagine packing a years worth of clothes in one 30 kg bag. That was my Oxford travel mission and somehow I had to find a solution or accept that I would go naked for half of my year in the UK. My solution, the VacBag by Tevo. I was skeptical about another TV advertorial product, but I can vouch that VacBag works! And here’s how…

What you’ll need:

  1. Some VacBags
  2. A stack of clothing
  3. A vacuum

First step, the bag…

I tried the VacBag out with my thickest clothes, all of my woolly jerseys…

Next step, pack all jerseys into the VacBag and seal it with the plastic sealing clips that come with the bags (keep these safe afterward because they are loose clips and you want to reuse them again). Simply pull the clip over the blue seal to lock the bag. If the bag is quite full, like this one, you can just go over the blue seal again with the clip. Just make sure the seals are locked completely (it needs to feel like a zip lock bag’s seal before you continue).

Remove the cap from the VacBag air valve and make sure your vacuum nozzle fits snugly into the valve. Check that the plastic spin lock is also open.

Make sure your vacuum fits nicely so no air escapes from the valve

Now watch the air get sucked out of your clothes, just like on TV! Close the spin lock now as well. Put the cap back on.

The size of the jerseys in my VacBag has depleted by about 30% (compare to the dustbin next to the VacBag).

The VacBag says that no odors, creepy creatures, mould or dust can get to your clothes while inside and it is even waterproof, so if by some chance your baggage lands in the water, at least everything will be dry.

I was skeptical, but I can honestly say (like one of those actors on the advertorials) that the Tevo VacBag is the answer to my travel problems. I hope it can be for you as well!

Happy travelling!
