DIY Coffee Ground Scrubs: The most beautiful way to cut your Food Waste

DIY Coffee ground scrubs blog post

One of the easiest, and most fun ways to cut down on food waste is by becoming creative with the leftovers. I’ve been experimenting with some DIY scrub options made from my husband’s leftover coffee grounds. He loves his coffee and I can fill half a mason jar from one weekend to the next. Although I know coffee grounds are actually good for your drain and helps to clear the drain when flushed down, I was convinced that I could do something creative with these, otherwise food waste. I had so much fun creating these recipes and have loved using them in the shower as well. I hope you enjoy them just as much!

Update to original post: It is VERY important that your coffee grounds are completely dried out before you use them in any of these scubs. Best way I’ve found to do it it to first dry out your coffee grounds in the sun after removing them from your pot and then spreading them in a baking pan and drying them out in the oven while it’s heating up before you make food or bake, and while the oven is cooling down after use (saving energy and drying out your coffee).
