A Picturesque Visit to the Eastern Cape

The Eastern Cape province in South Africa is one of those provinces we all know and we all pass through on our way to our final destination, but it very rarely IS our final destination. Over the past Heritage long weekend, we had the opportunity to attend a very dear friend’s wedding in the Eastern Cape.

We were taken by surprise by the beauty of the little piece of heaven we found driving from Port Elizabeth to Oubos Strand (about 40km from Humansdorp).

The green fields reminded me of the English countryside and the majestic mountains were like something from a fantasy novel (I can understand why this area was an inspiration for Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings).

So this blog post will be a little different as it’s going to be mostly visual. The landscape speaks for itself and I hope by sharing some of the glimpses from our trip you’ll be inspired to go visit the Eastern Cape as well.
